Fiji Hotels by Style Our Recommended Resorts of the Month: Search for All Fiji Resorts The largest resort in Fiji has about 400 rooms - nothing in comparison to those in Hawaii. The largest resorts are found around the international airport at Nadi and along the Coral Coast of Viti Levu, an hour or so by road to the south. There are over many small resorts in Fiji, often with maximum of just a dozen or so couples. One of Fiji's main attractions are the many small islands scattered around the coral reefs. Resorts on these small islands are quite common, especially in the Mamanuca Group, visible to the west of Nadi Airport. Beach side bungalows / units and traditional thatch bures are the most popular style of accommodation in Fiji - these have mini bar service only and are usually open plan with high ceilings for good ventilation. Air conditioning is not favoured but some resorts do offer it. Self-catering holidays can be found on the Coral Coast of Viti Levu and around Taveuni in the Northern Islands where the tourist infrastructure is best, although this style of accommodation is quite limited compared to other south pacific regions. If you after a peaceful holiday away from children, several resorts have a no child policy.
